federal reserve note

the paper currency placed in circulation by the Federal Reserve Banks and issued in denominations of from $1 to $100. Nearly all of the nation's circulating paper currency consists of Federal Reserve notes printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Federal Reserve notes are obligations of the U.S. Government.
